After the low, PCP stopped 2.5 Glipizide XR breakfast lunch. Slowly restored Metformin XR 500 mg, then 1000, now 1000 am 500 pm. PCP is a Prandin 2.5 mg start before dinner and tiltrate up. (had heart palpitations so stopped two months ago). Januvia was stopped 1 year ago due to stomach pain and increased pancreatic enzymes. Metformin reduced from 2500 mg two years ago to 1500 mg due to stomach pain. Sensitive to medicines. Endocrinologist short-staffed. No appointment to manage meds until November.
Post-prandials in 200-250, once 300. If eat only 25 carbs at meal and exercise, @ 150 2 hrs after meals. Trace ketones every day for 8 days except today. Reduced Carbs from 135-145 a day to @ 90-110. Increased protein is 70 grams. Can not increase fat due to health issues. Chicken twice a month. No red meat. Stationary bike 40 minutes, slow pace. Yoga 15 minutes. Too focused on diet, ketones. Worried if start basal insulin, can get lows. Traveling in three weeks.
How long can I fight insulin?
Please help.
